In the summer of 1974, the Historic American Engineering Record, in cooperation with the Eleutherian Mills-Hagley Foundation began this inventory of engineering and industrial sites in the State of Delaware. While the document is dated, it provides an interesting overview of structures, such as bridges, trusses and aqueducts, train stations and manufacturing sites, and documents the State’s earliest technology, focusing on sites of significant industries. Some examples include Curtis Paper Mill, Newark; Breck’s Mill, Wilmington; Fort Delaware, Delaware City; Clayton Railroad Station, Clayton; Iron Pier, Cape Henlopen.
